Laurel Energy adopts a "Systems' Approach" in finding solutions to production engineering problems aimed at well productivity improvement. This involves the review of all related well data at different nodal points using nodal analyses software. The following sets of data are employed in the analysis: reservoir data including logs and core data, drilling and well completion data, production data, workover and past well activity data such as stimulation, frac jobs etc., special reports on the reservoirs and wells. Once the problems are identified through diagnostic methods, suitable solutions, including new technology application will be recommended and eventually deployed in solving the problems. The major steps involved are:
A study or field review is carried out to aid in analyzing the individual production problems from formation damage or productivity impairments to sand and gas production, sand control, scale deposition or asphaltene precipitation, artificial lift, wellhead beans or even the flow-station etc.
Inflow performance relationship is used to determine well potential based on down-hole tubular sizes, geological and petrophysical controls, vertical lift performance / optimization review, and surface facilities constraints etc. The candidate wells are screened and ranked in preparation for providing a tailored solution which could range from using state of the art technologies in remedial wellbore cleanout or stimulation, to re-perforation, artificial lift optimization, etc.
